Doug was born and raised in the Ottawa Valley, with family roots dating back to the 1800's. His ancestors migrated from Ireland and settled just south of Ottawa, near Osgoode, creating businesses, raising families, and contributing to what has made this country a great place to live. He enjoys living in the exciting and eclectic neighbourhood of Hintonburg, Ottawa, which has become well known for its specialty shops, boutiques, and five-star dining.
He carries this same passion for community today in everything he does. He excelled with a long time career in media, with the Ottawa Citizen newspaper, honing his skills in sales negotiation, advertising, marketing, networking, copy writing, photography and layout.
